Beautiful onset of monsoon
bliss is welcomed with joy by Indian women in their marital life. Particularly

in western and northern states of India. It begins with the feelings of

falls on the lunar day on the birth of Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of

placed especially on trees for this occasion, applying Mehandi on hands and
feet to express the depth of love with its imprints, fragrance and deep hues,
wearing of ethnical garments of vibrant colors and prints like Leheriya, Mauthdaand Bandhej, feasting festive dishes like Sattu, Ghaver and gifts from mother and mother in law to
their daughter and daughter in law in the form of “Sindhara”. Three days are
kept for three variant names of Teej as Hariyali, Kajari, Hartalika . Women
wear Sindhoor , Bindi, Kangan with sensitive emotional values for their
husbands. All this brings hope of empowerment, wellbeingof their children, in laws, spouse and one’s own body and soul for life ahead.
